Maton Custom Shop Jumbo
A guitar that will cover all of your bases, this Maton Jumbo was born from the blending of traditional materials with exquisite craftsmanship. This custom shop jumbo represents a total, no compromise approach. Flawless attention to detail guarantees your Maton will be an instrument of pride and pleasure for many years to come.
With a striking combination of European Spruce and AAA Flamed Hard Rock maple, this guitar performs and sounds absolutley wonderful. Clear high range tones with very supportive low and mid range tones with balance across the board.
The tone of the Rock Maple back and sides is heavy and bright with plenty of articulation and low end for a maple guitar. Pairing this with the European Spruce top ensures this guitar will shine in any setting or jam!
European Spruce top is very light weight and stiff, and often looks very pale. European Spruce hails from northwest Norway, eastern Poland, the mountains of Central Europe, the western edge of the Alps, the Carpathians and Balkans, and to the extreme north of Greece. The wood tone comes across different than most spruce. European provides a sound rich in overtones, focused, and full of nuance and tone color; a sound often preferred by fingerpickers. It offers a quicker response and greater headroom than Engelmann.
The back and sides are built with AAA Flamed Rock(hard) Maple. This hard maple gives the guitar great bass response, and a shimmering high end that can cut through any mix. Building with maple back & sides gives the guitar a brighter attack, and provides higher end overtones that will ring out with any sweet chamber or hall reverb.
To mention another amazing feature this guitar has to offer would be Maton's own AP5-Pro pickup system. The AP5 Pro now features Separate Microphone and Piezo input controls allow for blending of both microphone and piezo levels prior to sending the actively combined signals through to the tone circuits and master volume.
Highly selective cardioid microphone system allows for much greater microphone level before feedback in live environments. This newly upgraded microphone is direct mounted to the preamp casing via an adjustable arm, which permits easy final tweaking of microphone position to suit the individual artists style.
